Eugene, OR (PRWEB)  July 7, 2009 — Palo Alto Software gave out copies of the Premier Edition of its best-selling business-planning software, Business Plan Pro, to any and all small businesses and entrepreneurs who stopped into any of 85 locations throughout the state of Oregon as part of its ‘Oregon Small Business Boost’ (OSBB) on July 1st. Approximately 16,200 copies of the software, which retails for $199.95, were handed out at locations throughout the state. This equates to over $3.2 million worth of software.

Events throughout Oregon helped to highlight the giveaway. In the morning in Eugene for example, around 100 people gathered at 9 AM to see Palo Alto chief executive officer Sabrina Parsons, and founder and president Tim Berry, launch the OSBB. Also present at the event was Kitty Piercy, mayor of Eugene, who commented at the launch, “The economic crisis we have been facing around the world and right here in Eugene has had enormous impact on us. Palo Alto Software planned to give away $3 million worth of its popular business-planning software to 15,000 Oregonians in a one-day promotion on Wednesday.

But when some pick-up sites, including those in Eugene, started running out of vouchers for the software, the company made more available — a total of 17,000 — to various chambers of commerce and small business development centers throughout Oregon, spokesman Dan Brown said.

Those who picked up the vouchers have until 5 p.m. on Friday to download “Business Plan Pro Premier.” Company officials will have a final tally on Monday of how many Oregonians received a free copy of the software, which usually sells for $199.95.
