My third business plan was easily the best, and the process was the most enjoyable of the three. A main reason is that I wised up and decided to use some software. Palo Alto Software planned to give away $3 million worth of its popular business-planning software to 15,000 Oregonians in a one-day promotion on Wednesday.
But when some pick-up sites, including those in Eugene, started running out of vouchers for the software, the company made more available — a total of 17,000 — to various chambers of commerce and small business development centers throughout Oregon, spokesman Dan Brown said.
Those who picked up the vouchers have until 5 p.m. on Friday to download “Business Plan Pro Premier.” Company officials will have a final tally on Monday of how many Oregonians received a free copy of the software, which usually sells for $199.95.
