Web Application Developer

Palo Alto Software is seeking a full-time Web application developer. We’re looking for an experienced developer who can shepherd a project through the entire software development process. Candidates will need to be able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment and effectively communicate with team members and management.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or other technical field.
  • Great working knowledge of common object-oriented design patterns and architectures.
  • Fluent in SQL, familiar with creating relational database schema, indexing, query analysis and other DBMS concepts.
  • Experience working with Web services like REST and SOAP.
  • Practical experience with provisioning and administering Web (Apache) and database (MySQL) servers on a Linux platform.
  • Proficient with HTML/CSS/JavaScript front-end development, preferably as part of a template framework such as JSP or Smarty.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong team player.

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with Java/J2EE and Tomcat Application Server.
  • Experience with RIA platforms such as Adobe AIR, MS Silverlight, Google Web Toolkit, and/or popular JavaScript libraries such as jQuery or Ext.
